One of the divisions at Microsoft, according to sources, is working at the moment on special covers for smartphones, equipped with additional displays. In the Network published a picture on which one can see the covers, equipped with black-and-white screens — probably on the basis of electronic ink. From domestic producers already have a smartphone YotaPhone with an additional e-ink display on the rear panel. However, here the idea is slightly different. An additional display will not work independently from the main screen, and would like to add to it. For example, the additional may have a QWERTY-keyboard will display the detailed notification applications, or display on the cover will show you the calendar, while you are writing an email or disassemble the journals. Also, this display may serve as notebook. At the moment the product is still under development, and Microsoft Research is negotiating with the OU Lumia, to understand whether such product can be done to make it useful for users. No more details regarding this project are not reported.
